BRIGHOUSE Town dropped a place to third in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division after being held 2-2 at home to fourth-placed Worksop Parramore.

Paul Quinn’s side were made to work hard for their point, twice equalising against the busy visitors.

Ten minutes into the second half, Ernest Boafo (below) cancelled out Lee Thompson’s 31st-minute opener.

Then, within 60 seconds of Scott Bates putting Parramore back in front with a 78th-minuite goal, James Hurtley levelled again.

Brighouse were leapfrogged by Scarborough Athletic, who won 3-2 at Armthorpe Welfare, while leaders Bridlington Town walloped Nostell MW 11-0, the biggest win anywhere in the league this season.

Brid, two points clear of Scarborough and three above Brighouse, were six goals up by the interval and added a further five in the second half.

Josh Greening got a hat trick whilst there were two each for Ashley Allanson, Carl Stewart and Craig Hogg.

Nathan Cook and Chris Batchelor also got on the scoresheet.

Hogg now has 21 goals for the season and Stewart 20.

A Craig Morley own goal and a Tony Hackworth strike sealed victory for Scarborough after their clash with Armthorpe was level at half-time.

Brighouse Town are in FA Vase third-round action at home to Derbyshire’s Holbrook Sports, of the East Midlands Counties League, on Saturday.
