RIVAL managers Simon Grayson and Gus Poyet both brushed on the other’s budget in the build-up to Town’s clash with Brighton today.

That came after chairman Dean Hoyle’s claim that Town’s is among the eight lowest in the Championship.

Brighton boss Poyet said: “They were the team that spent the most in the last three years in League I by far. By that, I mean – by far! Why are they going to change now?

“If they have done it that way and they have the possibility to keep spending, they will.

“They have shown that in the last three years and they are showing it now with the players they are bringing in.”

Grayson said: “Gus can call on Premier League players in Dean Hammond (on loan from Southampton), Wayne Bridge (on loan from Manchester City, Andrew Crofts (ex-Norwich) and Tomasz Kuszczak (ex-Manchester United).

“When you see names like that, you know they have gone up a level.”
