BUSINESS leaders caught World Cup fever at a meeting designed to help them net more contracts.
The Business Referral Club adopted a football theme at the George Hotel in Huddersfield.
Organisers from the Huddersfield Town Partnership wore football shirts while chairman Steve Pollitt, of law firm Eaton Smith, was designated referee – issued with a whistle and red and yellow cards to help keep the meeting in order.
There was also a spot-the-ball competition run by Mark Longbottom, of Design58, England balloons supplied by Ballyhoo Balloons and a “team sheet” in place of the usual list of delegates.
About 40 people were given a minute each to talk about their businesses.
