FC Halifax Town face a busy Christmas after their FA Trophy first-round tie against Worcester City was rearranged for next Tuesday, writes Doug Thomson.

It means the Shaymen face a run of four games in eight days, starting with Saturday’s home Vanarama Conference clash with Nuneaton.

After playing Worcester at Kidderminster Harriers’ Aggborough Stadium, where the game was frozen off on Saturday and the winners will host Alfreton Town in round two, it’s Gateshead away on Boxing Day.

Neil Aspin’s ninth-placed side then host Chester on Sunday, December 28.

A number of Trophy ties called off on Saturday are taking place tonight.

But Worcester have a big FA Cup second-round replay at home to Scunthorpe United tomorrow.

The second round of the Trophy is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, with competitions chiefs knowing a Halifax-Worcester replay could be required, hence the need to schedule the tie for next week.

Brighouse Town have home Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North games against Harrogate Railway on Saturday and Farsley on Boxing Day.
