Waking up on the day that the national press is consumed with England's Euro 2016 clash with Wales, Huddersfield Town fans had an extra reason to jump out of bed.

The early morning news was the best possible alarm tone - the club announced that manager David Wagner and assistant Christoph Buhler had both agreed new contracts to stay at the John Smith's Stadium.

Exact details are not being revealed, but that was of trifling concern to fans who took to social media to express their joy.

Speaking about his plans for the future, Wagner said: “We have lots of exciting plans to improve Huddersfield Town further and it is perfect for me that Dean and the board are in total agreement.

“This relationship and trust between the head coach and the people in charge is not normal."

The boss has a special relationship with the fans too, and it's fair to say the reaction was almost unanimous joy...
