DANNY CADAMARTERI is in contention for a competitive debut as Town prepare for a tough physical contest at Northampton tomorrow (3.00).

The 27-year-old striker is in the squad which will travel to Sixfields after coming through Wednesday night’s Reserve run-out with no reaction to the hamstring problem which has ruled him out of all Town’s eight games so far.

Defenders Nathan Clarke and Frank Sinclair are also in the mix as boss Andy Ritchie, whose side are 10th in League I, tries to end a three-match losing run against Stuart Gray’s muscular 16th-placed side.

Clarke and Sinclair both played 45 minutes against Wolves’ second string to prove their progress after knee and hamstring injuries respectively.

But captain Jon Worthington won’t travel despite also playing half the Pontin’s League game as he works his way back to fitness after groin trouble.

“It’s still a bit too soon for Worthy, because he has been out longer than the other two,” explained Ritchie, who is seeking a third away win of the season after Bournemouth and Millwall.

“But it’s good to have the other lads pushing for a place.

“We won’t finalise our plans until seeing how they train.

“But whoever plays better be ready for a tough scrap.

“All reports say Northampton play an uncompromising brand of football, and we have to be ready for that kind of test.

“I want a big response to the Cheltenham defeat.”
