Huddersfield Town will have Calum Woods on stand-by for today’s Championship clash at Leicester after Jazz Richards reported back from Wales international duty with a calf injury.

The on-loan Swansea full-back, 22, won his third cap in the 1-1 draw with Belgium, but picked up the problem during the Brussels game and has had a scan.

“It’s more of a niggle, and it may just be a bit of tightness, but we have to err on the side of the caution, and I’m not hopeful for today’s game,” said manager Mark Robins.

Richards has played on both right and left in the course of his five Town appearances and linked well with Adam Hammill during the 2-1 home defeat by Watford a fortnight ago.

Ex-Leicester player Robins, whose side are 13th, rates the third-placed Foxes highly, but says his side are capable of repeating last season’s 2-1 FA Cup win at the King Power Stadium.

“We have more than enough capable players in the squad,” added the boss, who yesterday welcomed back striker Martin Paterson from Northern Ireland duty.

“I watched Leicester beat Barnsley at the King Power (one of five successive home wins for Nigel Pearson’s team) and they were strong.

“Nigel has got a settled side who are proving pretty consistent, and they are always a tough proposition on their own patch.

“They have good strikers and the full-backs as well as the wide men are able to supply the ammunition, so that’s something we must be wary of.

“I’m looking for a strong performance that will provide them with some problems to deal with.”
