JON PARKIN says he has come to Huddersfield Town with the aim of making the move permanent.

And Galpharm manager Lee Clark, who is ready to hand the on-loan Cardiff City striker a debut in Monday's big match at league I leaders Charlton, says the 29-year-old has the opportunity to clinch a longer deal.

"Jon is a player I have been watching for a long time, and I believe he can bring something to what we’re trying to do in terms of promotion," said Clark.

Former Barnsley player Parkin, out of the frame under Malky Mackay at Cardiff, admitted: "It's been frustrating down in Wales.

"Huddersfield have handed me a great opportunity. I'm on loan to January 23 and my aim is to do well enough to make the move permanent."
