Phil Brown has been linked with the vacant manager's job at Bolton Wanderers - according to the Guardian.

The Southend boss is apparently one of the favourites to take charge at the Macron Stadium after Neil Lennon left by mutual consent on Tuesday.

Brown told the Essex Echo: “I’m happy as manager of Southend United but I am ambitious and I want to get back to the highest possible level. I want to have another crack at the Premier League but I have a big job on my hands with Southend and that’s all I’m focusing on at the moment.”

Hull City are to stop the sale of season tickets next term and instead offer a membership scheme , which the club claim could save fans as much as £282.

The Tigers claim that the new scheme will make them one of the cheapest club's in the top flight, should they achieve promotion.

However, many supporters will have to move seats and some will lose out under the new plans.

Their vice-chairman, Ehab Allam, said: “For too long, the price of football in this country has been much too high. This new scheme will at least ensure the same cannot be said of Hull."

Town's new cut price season cards, £179 for adults, are released tomorrow.
