Sheffield Wednesday have started to look at striking alternatives after Bournemouth striker Glenn Murray revealed he was not keen on a move to Yorkshire.

There had been reports in the national press that the 32-year-old was a target for the Owls on loan, but the Sheffield Star claims Murray isn't interested in swapping the South Coast for Hillsborough and the club will now turn their attention to alternative targets to boost their play-off hopes.

Ipswich Town have completed the loan signing of Liam Feeney from Bolton until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old will go straight into the squad to face Rotherham this weekend.

He will also be available for the play-offs, should the Tractor Boys confirm a top six finish. They are currently one point off the pace with 11 games remaining.

Another club dipping into the loan market is Brentford , who have confirmed the loan capture of Everton forward Leandro Rodriguez as Dean Smith's first signing.

The Uruguayan joined the Premier League outfit from River Plate Montevideo last summer but has struggled with injury.

He will remain at Griffin Park for one month and is available for the weekend clash with Blackburn.

Harry Redknapp has revealed he plans to help Derby County into the Premier League this season.

The former QPR boss has joined the Rams as a football advisor, and will also take charge of Jordan's international side for their World Cup qualifiers later this month.

Redknapp told TalkSPORT : “I won’t be on the touchline, I’ll be upstairs. I know it’s difficult when you’re a manager and you don’t necessarily want someone else coming in.

“But the chairman said, ‘look, if Harry doesn’t come in then somebody else will.’ He was going to bring someone in, and Darren knew that.

“I had a good chat with Darren, he’s a great lad, and I told him that I’m just here for nine games. Hopefully it will be nine games with automatic promotion or 12 games with the play-off final.

Current QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has admitted former Arsenal man Jay-Emmanuel Thomas isn't part of his long term plans at Loftus Road.

Signed on a free transfer from Bristol City last summer, Thomas was sent on loan to MK Dons last month and looks set to depart west London early after Hasselbaink told supporters he is surplus to current requirements.

Said the Rs boss: “Jay Emmanuel Thomas didn’t fit in my plans, and we decided to loan him out and get as much money as possible back for the club while also getting him game time."

Leon Best has compared the "rare" bond in the Rotherham dressing room to the one he enjoyed at Newcastle United when they were chasing promotion in 2009-10.

Now fighting relegation with the Millers, Best scored twice in the draw with Derby last time out.

Best said : “It reminds me of the year I went up with Newcastle. All the lads are together.

“It is rare you find that. When you are at clubs, there are normally groups of players or foreigners who stick to their own; not in a malicious way, it’s just what they’re used to.

“Everyone is equal here. Everyone’s the same and will do anything for each other.”

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett is keen to extend David Davis' contract.

The club have a year option on the midfielder's deal, keeping him at St Andrew's until 2017, but Rowett is keen to add another year on top.

“This week saw us extend his contract by a year and that is something he thoroughly deserved,” Rowett told the Birmingham Mail.

“We’re also looking at whether we can extend that by another year as well.

“He’s done really well for us and like I said to him at the start of the season ‘Regardless of how many games you play, you will be a crucial part of our squad and what we’re trying to do’."

Bolton Wanderers forward Zach Clough looks set for a frosty reception when the Trotters take on Bristol City this weekend.

The Robins had a £2m bid for the 21-year-old accepted by Wanderers in January, with the Lancashire club desperate to raise funds to stave off a winding-up order.

However, Clough was unable to agree personal terms and famously claimed he took just "10 seconds" to turn down a switch to Ashton Gate.

Almost certain to start for Wanderers, he is likely to be targeted by booing home fans in the stands.
