Clubs are on the lookout for fresh blood this summer, with managers looking to strengthen their squads ahead of the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship season.

Over the weekend, Fulham swooped to bring in Everton left-back Luke Garbutt on a season-long loan and Nottingham Forest sealed a similar deal for Leicester City goalkeeper Ben Hamer.

Burnley are facing a fight from Nottingham Forest in their attempt to land midfielder Henri Lansbury.

The Clarets last week saw two bids turned down, with Forest boss Dougie Freedman not impressed by the value of the first offer for the former Arsenal man.

And despite manager Sean Dyche's confidence that he will soon be able to add more players to his squad, the Turf Moor outfit are being met with resistance by their Championship counterparts.

Cardiff City (Wales Online)

Wales international David Cotterill is not on Cardiff City's wanted list and will not be joining the Bluebirds for the 2015/16 season, according to manager Russell Slade.

The Birmingham City winger has been heavily linked with a switch to the Welsh capital but Slade indicated the rumours were wide of the mark.

“We are working hard to add quality to our squad, but those rumours are untrue,” said Slade.

Hull City (Hull Daily Mail)

Tigers boss Steve Bruce has revealed he is hoping to complete moves Ryan Taylor and Sam Clucas within the next 48 hours.

Taylor is a free agent, having left Newcastle United at the end of 2014/15, and has been training with the club on their pre-season training camp in Austria.

Clucas is set to fly out to have a medical ahead of a proposed £1.3m switch from Chesterfield as a replacement for Robbie Brady, who himself is on the verge of a £7m move to Norwich City.

The Owls are on the verge of tying up their ninth summer signing with the addition of Charlton Athletic left-back Rhoys Wiggins.

A fee of £750,000 has been agreed with the Addicks for the 27-year-old, who hopes to arrive prior to a midweek friendly at Scunthorpe United.

He has yet to undergo a medical, but that is expected to be a formality, with manager Carlos Carvalhal keen to bring in cover for the injured Claude Dielna.

Striker Stephen Dobbie and full-back Lawrie Wilson are edging closer to securing permanent deals at the Macron Stadium, with manager Neil Lennon confirming positive talks had been held with the duo.

Lennon is determined to get a deal done for Wilson in particular, with one other Championship club said to be sniffing around him, as he would cure a big headache for the manager at right-back.

Meanwhile, Rob Hall's proposed loan switch to MK Dons is on hold currently, with Lennon keen to bring more bodies into his squad before allowing anyone to depart.

Preston North End (Lancashire Evening Post)

Simon Grayson is set to add one of the full-back targets he has coveted this summer in Greg Cunningham, with the Bristol City left-back having agreed a two-year deal at Deepdale.

The 24-year-old had just 12 months left on his contract at Ashton Gate and has traded life with one promoted League One club for another.

The former Manchester City trainee arrives for an undisclosed fee and watched North End's weekend victory over Motherwell and underwent in medical in Scotland over the weekend.

QPR (Get West London)

R's boss Chris Ramsey admits he is hoping to step up his move for Adlene Guedioura over the coming weeks, because the Algerian international exemplifies the way he wants his team to play.

The former Watford loanee is out of favour at Crystal Palace and Ramsey believes he is just what his side are looking for the get the best out of Jamie Mackie.

He explained: “He’s good on the ball and he’s another playmaker I think we need.”

Blackburn Rovers (Lancashire Telegraph)

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is set to hand former Blackpool striker Nathan Delfouneso an extended trial at Ewood Park after scoring in a friendly win at Oldham Athletic, but fellow trialists Jeffrey Sarpong and Maic Sema have left.

Delfouneso had previously been on trial at Dutch second-tier side Go Ahead Eagles earlier this summer, but he impressed Bowyer by scoring the opener and setting up the second goal for Craig Conway.

“Nathan’s going to spend a couple of weeks with us and we’ll have a closer look at him and go from there, but he’s done himself no harm whatsoever with that goal,” Bowyer revealed.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton has backed defender Lewis Dunk to ignore speculation surrounding his future after a £4m bid from Fulham was rejected.

Hughton said: “Any type of speculation is very much part of the game. If it’s him this time it will be somebody else next time and they get used to it.

“Players always have to train well, produce what they are good at, otherwise people will think differently of them. He’s not been a problem, same as everybody else.”

Manager Kit Symons has challenged striker Adam Taggart to prove he can be the club's fourth-choice striker this season to dovetail with the likes of Matt Smith, Ross McCormack and Cauley Woodrow in the Cottagers attack.

And he is refusing to close the door on Taggart, who endured an injury-hit start to life at Craven Cottage following last summer's move from J-League outfit Newcastle Jets in Australia.

Symons said: “He’s worked very hard pre-season; he’s bright, aggressive. He has an opportunity and we’ll see whether he takes it.”
