Wolves are the latest to add their name to the list of interested clubs for Manchester United forward Ashley Fletcher.

The 20-year-old, who impressed on loan at Barnsley last term, has already been linked with a loan to Leeds United and now the Express and Star claims that Kenny Jackett is interested in acquiring Fletcher on a temporary deal as a solution to his own striking shortage.

Fletcher has been offered a new deal at Old Trafford and is apparently weighing up his options.

Newcastle United are not about to bid for Wigan Athletic forward Will Grigg.

Northern Ireland's Will Grigg

So says the Chronicle , disputing recent media reports that the Magpies were keen to add him to their ranks this summer.

The Northern Ireland striker scored 25 goals in League One last season but is not at this moment under serious consideration at St James' Park.

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly considering a move for Birmingham City winger David Cotterill.

Reading and Cardiff are also keen on the Welshman, who spent two years at Sheffield United earlier in his career.

And Birmingham City are apparently head of the queue for Swindon striker Nicky Ajose.

That's according to reports in Wiltshire , which claim that Swindon have already turned down a £500,000 bid for the former Manchester United man.

Ajose scored 25 times last term but his club are keen to keep him, and have said that the existing offer does not meet their valuation.

Wigan Athletic are tracking Sunderland midfielder Jordi Gomez.

Blackburn Rovers' Jordi Gomez (centre) celebrates after scoring his side's first goal during the Sky Bet Championship match at the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough.

The Sunderland Echo reports that the Lancashire club are aiming to re-sign the player they sold to the Black Cats two years ago as they prepare for their Championship return.

Gomez is not in Sam Allardyce's plans and played his football on loan at Blackburn last season.

Adam Hammill has revealed he "followed his heart" in turning down an approach from Bristol City to stay at Barnsley.

The former Huddersfield Town man signed a two year contract at Oakwell.

Said Hammil l: “I had a few other medicals pencilled in. But I couldn’t go through with it in the end – I remember leaving last time and said I left too early.

“I was close to leaving. But more or less 24 hours went by and I reached the conclusion it would be the wrong choice to leave."
