Newcastle United are close to agreeing a deal to bring Alan Judge to St James' Park from Brentford .

The Republic of Ireland midfielder is due on Tyneside today for personal talks and a medical, despite still being in recovery from a nasty leg break.

The Bees star is due back in early November and still racked up 14 goals in 38 games last season, despite missing the run-in due to injury.

The Championship Player of the Year has provided 24 assists in the league since August 2014 - more than any other player - and could provide the creative spark Newcastle are missing.

No fee has been reported yet, but Judge should not cost the Toon too much as the 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season.

Jordan Rhodes

Norwich City are the latest club to be linked with former Huddersfield Town star Jordan Rhodes.

The Eastern Daily Press believe the expects to recruit fresh firepowerCanaries are interested in the 26-year-old after missing out on Ross McCormack and Steven Fletcher this summer, with Alex Neil expecting to snap up fresh firepower before the window shuts.

The Scotland international bagged 83 league goals in 159 appearances for Blackburn Rovers before heading to Teesside and struck 73 league goals in 124 outings for Town.

Although speculation on Rhodes has been rife, Boro boss Aitor Karanka rejected the rumours on Sunday.

He said: "The suggestions came from press? A journalist?

Aitor Karanka instucts Jordan Rhodes

"I don't have any problem with Jordan Rhodes, he came last season to play in the Premier League - we're now in the Premier League and he's working really hard to play in the Premier League.

"He's an amazing kid, so call the journalist and tell them it's not true.

"I hope [he's here next month]. We spent money on him last season, when I met him I said in the following press conference that he's an amazing kid and I'm pleased he can play in the Premier League."

Neeskens Kebano

Fulham are close to signing Genk midfielder Neeskens Kebano, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims the Whites are close to agreeing a deal for the Conoglese international worth £3.8m.

As part of the deal to take him to west London, it is believed Fulham would have to pay a further £850,000 to the Belgian club should they get promoted to the Premier League.

The former PSG midfielder is due for a medical at Craven Cottage early this week and could be eligible for selection when Fulham visit Blackburn this weekend.

Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba's - Twitter-reported - move to Aston Villa is a no-go (but we all knew that anyway).

It was claimed former Chelsea striker had landed in Birmingham over the weekend to sign for the Villans, but Drogba rubbished the report on Twitter himself.

Finally, Reading have confirmed the capture of Manchester United youngster Tyler Blackett .

The 22-year-old defender has signed a three-year deal at the Madejski after being told by Jose Mourinho early in the summer he could find a new club.
