Huddersfield Town continue to search for their first Championship win of the season when they travel to the The Valley to face Charlton Athletic tonight.

After a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the weekend to Cardiff City, Chris Powell's men sit second bottom of the league with three draws and three defeats from their opening six games.

They face a Charlton side who, after an impressive start to the season, find themselves having won just one of their last five league outings.

Who has said what about the game?

Despite Huddersfield Town enduring the worst start to a league campaign since the 1997/98 season, manager Chris Powell is remaining upbeat ahead of tonight's clash.

He said: "It’s not the start to the season that we wanted, obviously."

“We’ve had to deal with players coming and going and we’re trying to gel as a team as quickly as possible. We have had a number of players leave the club and we have a number of key players out through injury, so there have been lots of changes.

“So we have to try and sort things out as quickly as we can, and some aspects of the way we played as a team at Cardiff showed we are pulling together – but the end result is what matters.”

Any team news?

On-loan Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer will keep his place with Joe Murphy still suffering from a calf injury while captain Mark Hudson is also still out.

Jonathan Hogg will face a late fitness test after picking up an ankle knock on Saturday but the Terriers should welcome back Jason Davidson from international duty

Meanwhile the hosts could be set to give a debut to on-loan Everton forward Conor McAleny while Danish striker Simon Makienok is also pushing for a recall after making a substitute appearance against Rotherham United at the weekend.

Tell me about Charlton Athletic

The London side made a strong start to the season, taking the scalps of much-fancied Hull City and QPR as well as a hard-earned point at Derby County.

However, they have not won since their 2-1 home victory over Hull last month and come into this match on the back of a 1-1 home draw with bottom side Rotherham.

The Addicks do possess one of the tightest defences in the league though - letting in just five goals so far with only Brighton & Hove Albion and Middlesbrough conceding fewer.

League Head-To-Head Record

CAFC (35 wins), HTAFC (29 Wins), Draws (18)

Charlton cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory when the sides last met at The Valley in February while the reverse fixture at the John Smith's Stadium saw a 1-1 draw back in August 2014.

The Addicks are unbeaten in four league games against the Terriers, keeping three clean sheets, in what has been a heated affair in recent years, with four of the last 10 fixtures seeing a playing being sent off.

    Any Match odds?

The hosts are favourites to win the game at 5/4 with Huddersfield at 12/5 and the draw priced at 5/2.
