Manchester referee Chris Kavanagh takes charge of his first Huddersfield Town match when Watford visit for Saturday’s Championship game.
The whistler is new to the Football League, and will be in the middle for the 17th time this season.
It’s a third Championship outing for Kavanagh, who refereed Sheffield Wednesday versus Wigan Athletic in November and Ipswich Town against Charlton Athletic last month.
So far this season, he has shown two red cards, both to Coventry City players in their League I defeat at Doncaster Rovers, and 47 yellows.
Kavanagh took three FC Halifax Town home matches as he refereed in the Conference last season.
His assistants on Saturday will be Steven Copeland (Merseyside) and Gary Hilton (Lancashire).
The fourth official is Staffordshire’s Chris Sarginson.
