DELIGHTED Chris Brandon hopes his goal against Hull yesterday is the first of many for Town.

The 28-year-old netted on the break from a Junior Mendes pass in the 74th minute to put Town 3-0 ahead and en route to a second home win of the season.

"It was a brilliant display after what happened at Doncaster and we wanted to prove to the fans what we could do," said Brandon, who started for the first time alongside Danny Schofield.

"We knew Hull would come at us with all guns blazing at the start of the second half, but apart from that I thought we were superb and there wasn't a bad performance anywhere in our team.

"It was important to set a high tempo to get on top of Hull and we did that well, and we also got a bit of luck with the goals flying in like the did.

"I have probably been trying extra hard to get off the mark and it was great to finally get on the scoresheet.

"The ball through was brilliant from Junior and I couldn't really miss, and it was great to celebrate in front of all those fans. They gave us great backing all the way through."

Brandon added: "Hull are probably one of the best teams in the division and we've beaten them convincingly.

"If that doesn't give us confidence then nothing will and, when we're confident, we are a very good side."
