HUDDERSFIELD TOWN are raising a glass to a new shirt sponsorship deal with cider producers Rekorderlig.

The Swedish firm’s name will appear on the new home kit for the forthcoming Championship campaign, which will be unveiled at a special launch event in St George’s Square at 9.30 on Monday night.

Town haven’t put a figure on the three-year deal, but say it’s a record for the club, who have had 11 previous home shirt sponsors stretching back to the first, Central Garage Mirfield, in 1982.

Rekorderlig is a familiar name to fans, their logo appearing on the back of last season’s change shirt, on the warm-up kit used before the League I play-off final at Wembley and around the Galpharm Stadium on match days.

Town’s commercial director Sean Jarvis explained: “As the club has moved up to the Championship, our reach has also increased.

“Coverage of the Championship means Huddersfield Town are a much more easily accessible club for domestic and international markets and this fits perfectly with our growing relationship with Rekorderlig.

“We are proud to have them as the 12th name to grace the front of the famous blue and white striped shirt.”

Formed in 1999, Rekorderlig is in growth around the world.

The firm is partnered globally by Chilli Marketing, set up by three former University of Huddersfield students.
