NEXT month the Supporters Direct Annual Conference takes place outside of London for the first time – in Manchester on Friday, October 19, at the Manchester Central conference complex (previously known as GMEX).
Major speakers include James Purnell, Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport, and Gordon Taylor, of the Professional Footballers Association.
In addition, there will be a full range of workshops and this year promises to be better than ever.
One of these will focus on community activities and Town’s Supporters Trust will contribute to this with a report on the first project funded by the United Cooperatives group. The report itself will feature at a later date in this column.
Previous conferences have been very stimulating and there is much to learn from the experience of other supporters.
The Trust would welcome any supporters (members or not) as guests at the conference. Why not come along for an insight into how supporters can play a role in the future of football?
Please contact the Trust at PO Box 1908 Huddersfield HD4 6WT or email@example.com for further details.
Town Supporters Club have an open meeting at the Albert tonight (7.45), when a guest from the club will be present.
