Huddersfield YMCA have won the West Riding County Amateur League.

The Laund Hill club, who absorbed last season’s champions Bay Athletic following their demise last summer, sealed the Taylor’s Timber Premier Division title with a 3-0 win at Golcar United.

Now a side which includes former Huddersfield Town striker John McAliskey are going for the treble.

Already winners of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup, they take on Steeton in the WRCAL Premier Division Cup final at Lower Hopton on Saturday, May 21.

Before that YM have two more league games, at Campion on Friday and at home to Tyersal on Wednesday.

Their title triumph made it a Huddersfield double after Newsome, managed by former Town midfielder Dwayne Mattis, took the WRCAL First Division honours.

Newsome, in their first season since moving up from the Huddersfield District League, are also in the First Division Cup final (they face Holmfirth Town at Overthorpe on Wednesday, May 18).

And Lepton Highlanders have taken runners-up spot in the top flight.

YM have so far won 19 of their 22 league games.

Their scorers against Golcar were Wayne Shooter, Kitson Gayle and Bradley Riley.

Danny Naidole has netted 53 times in all competitions.
