ALEX SMITHIES
Stood firm against some testing shots and deliveries and was beaten by a sizzling strike from Zaha. 7

CALUM WOODS
Cautioned in the opening minute for a foul on Bolasie, but like Hunt, deserves praise for his hard work. 7

JACK HUNT
Booked for a late foul on Zaha but, over the piece, did well against two of the best wingers in the division. 7

ANTHONY GERRARD
Produced a typically defiant display and didn’t deserve the red card which is set to keep him out for three games. 7

JOEL LYNCH
Took the place of Peter Clarke and linked with his fellow defenders to limit chances, but a fifth caution means a ban. 7

ADAM CLAYTON
Produced a poor effort from the penalty spot but otherwise impressed on the right side, then centre, of midfield. 8

KEITH SOUTHERN
A very solid skipper in Clarke’s absence, and scored his first Town goal on his 350th career league outing. 8

OLIVER NORWOOD
Still struggling to find his early-season form, and his poor tackle let in Bolasie to set up Palace’s goal. 6

SEAN SCANNELL
Back on very familiar territory, he looked sharp and full of running on his first start in seven matches. 8

JAMES VAUGHAN
The former Palace loanee never stopped trying and was dangerous in the air, but couldn’t conjure a goal. 7

JERMAINE BECKFORD
The big man certainly put himself about and twice came close to beating acrobatic keeper Speroni. 7

Substitutes:
Adam Hammill(for Norwood, HT) 8;
Danny Ward (forScannell, 71) 7;
Peter Clarke (forVaughan, 81) 7

Fan match reports

We missed an oportunity to gain all 3 points, but a decent display overall. The ref's decision to send Gerrard off was a joke James, Sheffield

Good game spoilt by some dubious decisions by the ref, although I think the red card against Palace was justified....Hammill looked much better, as Norwood had another off day! Altogether happy with a point when I didn't think we'd get anything out of this game. Chris, Brighouse

Games can turn on terrible refereeing decisions (in all Divisions). First red - correct, penalty - never; second red - ridiculous!  Archie, Moldgreen

Great point against a good side. Needed to take advantage of the extra man. Always looked safe during the game, great performance from the lads, but need a couple of wins, we will be ok. I attended the game Bob Farrell, Barnet

Gerrard's sending off was a joke, not even a booking. I feel we had momentum and at that point were the only team going to win the game. great point though boys. UTT Mike, Guernsey

Far better performance all round, play like that week in week out and we will definitely stay in this league Kevin, Lindley

Good effort from the lads after last week's disappointment. A shocking penalty followed by a shocking red card for Gerrard! Tony, Golcar

Beckford today, for me, did everything that his role demanded, except score the goal he deserved. Martin, Outlane
