HOT-SHOT Danny Schofield is the man charged with powering Town to a new club record at the Galpharm tomorrow (3.00).

Never in Town's 97-year history have they scored in 22 successive League games and only Bournemouth now stand in the way.

Manager Peter Jackson expects fierce resistance from the visitors, who could play with only one up front and pack midfield, but he believes Schofield - who has been seeing a sports psychologist - has the confidence to fire Town to the top of the table.

"I'm delighted with Danny at the moment and he's in the form of his life," said Jackson, who has resisted the temptation to put David Mirfin on the bench.

"He has got five goals already as a wide man and when you add those to six for Gary Taylor-Fletcher and nine for Pawel Abbott, it's no wonder we are going well.

"Danny hasn't looked back since coming on at Forest on the opening day of the season and I just want him to carry on playing as excellently as he is.

"He has produced the consistency this season which has evaded him at times in the past and, as I've said to all the lads, I just want them to carry on playing like they are.

"Records are always nice, but the most important thing tomorrow is that we take the three points and maintain our challenge at the top of the table."

Abbott, in fact, has scored as many goals as the entire Bournemouth team this season and after his longest drought of the season (two matches!) will be keen to get back on the scoresheet tomorrow in front of an expected 12,000 crowd.

Jackson is just as keen, however, for Town to keep back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season to celebrate Paul Rachubka's inclusion in the League I Team of the Week.

"If we keep a clean sheet we will win the game, because I've no doubt we will score," explained the manager.

"I'm sure Bournemouth will come to make it tight and awkward for us, so we might have to be patient on the pitch and in the crowd.

"But if we produce better quality in the final third and add that to our form overall then there's every reason to be positive about winning."
