New Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner took his first Press conference today.

The former Borussia Dortmund II coach officially took charge today but was spotted in the stands at the game on Saturday.

The 44-year-old, who is best friends with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, spelled out his footballing vision at Canalside.

Here's Martin Shaw's take on what we found out.

Who is he?

He's a down to earth man who speaks with confidence and authority. And good English! He's learned his trade in German football and he's ready to test himself in English football. Is it a dream to be at Huddersfield Town? "We will see in the future," he joked.

Good to see his sense of humour, too.

Passion play

Wagner wants to play the Borussia Dortmund way and promises passion, speed and goals. He's excited by the possibilities and the opportunity at Town.

Right mentality

Despite the 3-0 defeat to Leeds on Saturday, the watching Wagner was impressed with the mentality and attitude of the players. He can see they are playing as a unit and fighting for eachother. He just wants them to "open their minds" to the new style of football.

He's got a trusted lieutenant

He's known Christoph Buhler for 13 years and they can be honest with eachother. Honesty is the best policy for success. They have the same ideas and work well together.

Liverpool?

He dodged questions about whether he had the chance to join mentor Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

"This isn't about Liverpool, it's about Huddersfield Town," he said. What's clear is he didn't expect to be coming into English football until last week.

Youth will get a chance

Wagner has been charged with bringing through young players from the Academy but he won't simply rely on the kids. He says a successful team needs experience as well and will be looking for the right mix. He won't hesitate to blood young players and says it's talent, not age, that is the important factor.
