EFE SODJE and David Mirfin have the most crucial jobs as Town bid to add more misery to Blackpool's dreadful home record tomorrow (3.00).

That's the view of manager Peter Jackson, who believes the key to victory is keeping a tight rein on Bloomfield Road strikers Scott Taylor and John Murphy.

Blackpool join Norwich and Rotherham as the only clubs in English football without a home win this season, a record the Tangerines' manager Colin Hendry is aiming to address by signing veteran Paul Warhurst in time to be included on the bench.

Jamie Burns is expected to deputise for suspended Paul Edwards on the left side of midfield for a Blackpool side including ex-Town left-back Gareth Evans.

Andy Booth for Junior Mendes is the only change for a Town team taking 1,900 fans to the west coast, although Jackson has all 20 of his fit squad travelling so they're familiar with Blackpool ahead of the LDV tie on Tuesday.

"It's important we get up and at 'em tomorrow and start the game really well," said Jackson, who is to report Boston to the Football League for having no doctor on duty at Wednesday's Reserve game.

"While Blackpool had a terrific 3-0 win at Brentford last week, they haven't won at home and the longer we can prevent them from scoring tomorrow the more nervous they are likely to become.

"I believe the real strength of their team is up front, where Murphy and Taylor can be a handful, so if Sodje and Mirfin can mark them well we will win the game."

Phil Senior plays in goal on his 22nd birthday while Rob Edwards travels having had three stitches in an Achilles wound.

"Even though it wasn't a spectacular win against MK Dons last week, I thought some of our football was good, particularly going forward with energy and pace," explained Jackson.

"All we have to do now is produce our best on a more consistent basis and we'll be fine.

"If we go about the game as I know we are capable, and don't give away any silly goals to give Blackpool a lift, then hopefully our travelling fans will have plenty to cheer about.

"Our support this season has been magnificent, I know they will be right behind us again tomorrow and, if we'd been able, I'm sure we could have sold another 1,000 or 2,000 tickets for this game."

On the Boston complaint, Jackson added: "Their doctor cried off ill and there was no replacement, but what if someone had been seriously hurt? It's not good enough."
