Huddersfield Town Ladies Reserves suffered a disappointing 3-1 derby defeat by Leeds Ladies.

With no first-team match, the seconds took centre stage at Storthes Hall Park.

They had plenty of the Women’s FA Premier League Reserves Northern Division match but were unable to take enough of their chances.

Alarna Fuller headed over from a corner on the quarter-hour mark.

Then Rachel Sherrard shot just wide before Leah White hit the bar.

With Town keeper Laura Carter playing well, it was 0-0 at half-time.

Carter pulled off another great save before Leeds took a 61st-minute lead with a log-range effort.

The visitors then hit a post before excellent work from Emily Ginley set up Courtney Kaye who fired in a left-footed leveller.

Unfortunately Leeds regained the lead within a minute, Town claiming the scorer was offside.

A breakaway goal in the 77th minute sealed the points.

Sunday’s hosts are Bradford City (2.00) while the firsts head to the Midlands to play Sporting Club Albion (2.00).

The Under 18s went second in the Sheffield & Hallamshire League with a 4-1 home win over Mosborough.

Lauren Buckley opened the scoring in the 21st minute, while Jess Holland put Town two up in the 52nd.

Mosborough pulled one back before player of the match Megan Mirfield restored the two-goal cushion on the hour.

Maddie Walsh got the fourth.

The Under 13s stayed top of their section with an 8-0 win over Steel City.

Town took the lead after only five minutes when Olivia Burgin finished well. Alicia Marriott struck with a well-taken goal in the 10th minute and Courtney Livsey netted in the 14th.

Macy Ellis twice hit a post before sister Molly, Town’s player of the match, made it 4-0 before the break.

Four goals in six minutes midway through the second half, by Marriott, Burgin and Livsey (2) sealed the win.

Saturday’s game is at Bawtry Juniors (11.00).
