ADAM BIRCHALL says plenty of Dover players have a point to prove in tomorrow’s FA Cup tie against Town.

The Conference South side’s hot-shot striker has already hammered 11 goals in the competition this season – and 29 in all matches.

Back on the radar after starting out at Arsenal and having spells with Mansfield and Barnet, the 26-year-old scored five times in Monday’s 7-2 victory at Thurrock.

“A lot of the lads are former professionals and they feel like they have something to prove,” said the former Wales Under 21 player.

“The gaffer (Martin Hayes) doesn’t like us thinking about the FA Cup or talking about it.

“But for a lot of the players it is going to be the biggest game of their lives.

“You have to respect your opposition and Huddersfield are a fantastic team, but the beauty of the FA Cup is anything can happen.

“If we were drawn against a Premier League side the gap is so huge that it would just be a good day out.

“Huddersfield is just a league higher than two teams we have already beaten this season (Gillingham and Aldershot) so you never know.”
