BRADFORD player Nathan Doyle has denied taking a dive in the incident which led to Danny Adams' derby dismissal.

The Town left-back, already cautioned, was shown a red card after a challenge on the on-loan Derby defender in the 72nd minute of the 1-0 Valley Parade victory.

While Town supporters close to the incident chanted "cheat", Adams said: "I never touched the lad. I thought he dived and I'm disappointed to go like that."

But Doyle, 19, hit back: "He was late on the tackle and I went down.

"He did catch me on my right ankle so they can't complain.

"There was definitely contact because I don't go down for no reason."

Town captain Jon Worthington's derby display earned him a place in the League I team of the week.

It was his first start in 10 games after a hernia.
