TOWN duo Andy Holdsworth and Tony Carss have been booked in for hernia operations next Wednesday and will be out for three to five weeks.

It's bad news for manager Peter Jackson, whose squad is already stretched by injuries and suspensions, although Carss may play in tomorrow's League I clash with Bournemouth.

Holdsworth has no chance of playing tomorrow and Jackson said: "It's a big blow to be losing two players who have done well for me this season.

"Adnan Ahmed came back in 24 days from the same operation last season, though, so we'll stay positive.

"And hopefully, we'll have a few more lads back from injury by next week."
