DALTON DYNAMOES lifted the Under 12 Cup with a tremendous 3-2 win over Yorkshire Lions.

The teams had drawn both their League clashes so a close encounter looked on the cards, and so it proved.

The Lions got off to a perfect start when Carl David smashed home the opening goal after just 10 minutes.

Dalton were convinced they had found an equaliser on the stroke of half time but referee Paul McDonald had already blown his whistle to signal the end of the half before the ball found the back of the net.

Dalton's hopes were raised when Daniel Lockwood fired home the equaliser 10 minutes after the re-start (1-1) and within 5 minutes Brandon Smith had fired them into the lead, but they were quickly brought back down to earth when David rose to meet a corner and steered a superb header into the top corner to level the scores again.

With the game heading for extra time the Lions almost snatched a winner but Dalton keeper Luke Connor pulled off a brilliant save to keep his side in the game and, from the throw out, the Dynamoes mounted an attack which ended the contest when Lockwood netted his second to give Dalton the Cup for their cabinet.
