STRIKER Matthew Young has been added to the squad for tomorrow's FA Cup trip to Stockport (3.00).

The 19-year-old Academy star is a candidate for the bench because both Andy Booth (thigh) and John McAliskey (groin) are struggling to be fit for Edgeley Park action

Young played up front in the Reserves' 5-0 mauling of Notts County on Wednesday - a game watched by manager Peter Jackson - and he could make the 16 for only the second time after being on the bench for last season's 3-2 home win against Scunthorpe.

Ian Gray, Rob Edwards and Akpo Sodje are definitely ruled out against Sammy McIlroy's side, who have won only two League games all season, but Jackson travels with all the other senior pros for the first-round tie.

"Matty Young has had a few run-outs in the Reserves and, because of our injury crisis, he is drafted into the squad," said Jackson today.

"He's a great grafter with a tremendous attitude to do well and this will be more quality experience for him.

"If he gets a chance, he will be keen to do well, but our attitude throughout the squad has to be `up and at 'em'

"We have to be ready to battle and scrap for everything, but I'm very confident that if we compete with Stockport and match them, then our football should be good enough to win us the game."

Jackson is hoping to get the all-clear on back-injury victim Tony Carss today, although Anthony Lloyd is on standby having been rested against Brentford.

More than 1,200 Town fans have already bought tickets for the tie - a first ever FA Cup meeting between the clubs - although suppoters will be able to pay at the turnstiles.

And Town hope many more will make the short trip, because they share in the gate receipts and benefit financially from a big crowd.

Prices down the side are £19 adults, £11 seniors and students and £7 juniors. In the uncovered seating behind the goal it's £16, £11 and £6.

"It will be brilliant to have big backing over there and we want everyone to be come back over the tops looking forward to the second round draw on Sunday afternoon," added Jackson.

"Our objective, as always, will be to get at Stockport and attack them and I don't want us taking the job lightly just because they are bottom of the League table."

Stockport will have leading scorer Luke Beckett available after Hull City today pulled out of a proposed £80,000 transfer deal.
