DEFENDER Lee Peltier is determined Town should leave the Emirates on Sunday with no regrets.
The fourth round FA Cup tie at Premier League Arsenal gives Peltier and his teammates the chance to pit their wits against some of the world’s best footballers and the 24-year-old Liverpudlian wants it to be a day to remember – and not a game to forget.
“We are ready and we are all looking forward to the game,” said Peltier.
“We know it is going to be tough, but we have got to go down there and do our job and enjoy it – and make sure that it is an experience to remember.
“It is down to us to go there and do our stuff and ensure that we have no regrets.”
Whatever side Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger decides to deploy against their League I rivals, Peltier is well aware he is likely to be up against a class act.
“I love situations like this and I am definitely looking forward to the challenge,” said the right back.
“I know they have got great players throughout their squad and I could be facing up to someone like Samir Nasri.
“But it is a great chance to test myself against players who are at that level. That’s where I want to be as a player and these are the type of players that you want to be up against every week.”
However, Peltier said the club were not about to allow the FA Cup adventure to knock them off course in their drive for the season’s prime objective – promotion from League I.
“Obviously Arsenal is a great game and it is a big day for the club, the players and all the fans, but the main target has to be to win promotion,” said Peltier.
“We know that Sunday is going to be a great game and a big day for the supporters, but we all know that we will have to get quickly back to reality.
“Promotion is the main objective and we want to be at our best next Tuesday against Carlisle and we want three points from that game.”
