EXETER City’s visits to Huddersfield have been few and far between.

Tomorrow’s clash will be the Grecians’ 10th in the town and their first at the stadium, with all but the first two (in 1975-76 and 76-77) at the current League I level.

Exeter’s’ last visit was in September 1993, when they scored one of three 1-0 victories at Leeds Road.

Neil Warnock, pictured, and Alan Ball were the respective managers.

The other away triumphs were in 75-76 and the season after, both games taking place in Division IV (now League II).

Exeter won promotion in 1976-77, and the sides didn’t meet again until 1980-81, when Mick Buxton’s team thumped to Grecians 5-0 at Leeds Road to complete an emphatic double after their 4-1 win at St James’ Park. Mark Lillis (2), Brian Stanton (2) and Keith Hanvey got Town’s goals in West Yorkshire after Steve Kindon (3) and Stanton scored down at Exeter.

There were 1-1 Leeds Road draws in 1981-82 and 1982-83, before Iffy Onuora’s strike sealed Town’s 1-0 win in 1990-91.

It was goalless in both 91-92 and 92-93.

In 18 clashes overall, Town have won seven and Exeter six.
