TOWN fans are remaining faithful despite a season of disappointment.

That's the message from the Galpharm club after an analysis of early season-ticket sales.

More than 4,000 have already splashed the cash to give manager Andy Ritchie a boost as he formulates a blueprint for a League I promotion bid.

And encouragingly for Town chiefs, 6% are new purchasers.

With business expected to become more brisk as the June 1 early-bird price deadline approaches, the club are confident of at least matching last year's offer period sales of 7,100.

While weekday business hours are 9.00 until 5.00, the stadium ticket office will be open between 9.00 to 1.00 on Saturday, the last before the early-bird offer ends.

The office is closed on Bank Holiday Monday.

While Ritchie was today continuing his pursuit of new recruits, released midfielder Adnan Ahmed was lining up a switch to League I rivals Tranmere.

It is believed the Burnley-based 22-year-old has had a medical at Prenton Park.

Plagued by injuries over the last two seasons, the one-time Manchester United junior player made 45 appearances for Town, 10 of them this season.

Speculation linking former Town boss Peter Jackson with Bradford was ended yesterday when the League II club announced Stuart McCall had been appointed as manager.
