TOWN fans can buy a brick to celebrate the club's centenary.

The idea - the first of many initiatives for the centenary - is to have a `walk of legends' in front of the stadium, with names and messages from fans.

Sean Jarvis, club director of business development, said the bricks - which are supplied by Briconomics - would be a permanent fixture.

"With the centenary just around the corner, we will be creating a walkway with fans' own personalised bricks," he said. "Supporters can use them to display any message (within reason!) and bricks will be laid outside the Galpharm Stadium for everyone to see."

Prices will start from £40.

"It's an ideal way for people to show their support for Town," added Jarvis. "Whether it's a memorial of someone or a message showing a person's own support, it will be firmly cemented in the fabric of the club for many years to come."

Bricks will be available from the Blackburn pre-season game on Wednesday, August 1, and the walkway unveiled when Arsenal visit in July next year for the official centenary match.

The Galpharm will be a `no smoking' stadium from July 1.

After consultation with the Football League and following Government guidelines, Town fans will not be able to smoke at matches.

"We just want to create a cleaner, healthier atmosphere and a more enjoyable environment, especially for families," said club secretary Ann Hough.
