FC HALIFAX Town boss Neil Aspin will be impressing the need to get the job done when his side face their second derby in three days tonight.

The Shaymen travel to face Guiseley in the Blue Square North at Nethermoor (7.45) after having lost a West Yorkshire derby on Easter Monday when Bradford Park Avenue left The Shay 1-0 winners.

While defeat at the hands of Park Avenue did not change the Shaymen’s position in the table, Aspin (left) is keen to ensure his side’s place in the play-offs sooner rather than later.

Halifax lie fourth and have games in hand on all the teams around them, and Aspin said: “The reality is we don’t need to win every game to get in the play-offs.

“But we’ve got hard games to come and every game you lose makes the task more difficult.”

With their fixture backlog – the Shaymen have five games in hand on third place Brackley and three on second placed Guiseley – and with the season drawing to a close Aspin knows he needs to be canny with how he deploys playing staff.

“We’re not going to play the same team every week, but the players who come in have got to get results,” added Aspin, who recorded his 100th win as Halifax’s boss when they won 1-0 against Workington at Borough Park on Saturday.

Tonight’s game at Nethermoor was originally scheduled for the beginning of November, but was put back to this date due to Guiseley’s county cup commitments, and was then postponed again due to bad weather.

Guiseley go into the game having won five in a row, with their latest victory coming against Workington 2-0 thanks to goals from Jake Lawlor and Zack Dale.
