FC Halifax Town will be looking to add to their latest signing Kevin Roberts.

The 27-year-old full back joins the Shaymen after a four-year stint with Cambridge United, where he made over 100 appearances for the Abbey Stadium outfit.

He is manager Neil Aspin’s third summer signing, after completing deals for strikers Richard Peniket and Ross Dyer.

“We had lost two full backs, so I need to bring in a couple,” said Aspin.

“I will also be bringing in a centre half because you need to have three centre-halves.

“ And I need to sign a midfield player as well, which is ongoing.

“And, even though we have got a couple of strikers, I need to bring in another one as well.”

Roberts final act as a Cambridge player was to lift the Skrill Premier play-off trophy after donning the armband late on following injury to captain Ian Miller.

The defender, who began his career at Chester where he played 81 times over four years, was one of six players released by Cambridge after helping the side gain promotion to League Two.
