FC HALIFAX Town are staring at a fixture backlog after last night’s home meeting with Harrogate Town was called off.

The Blue Square North fixture was postponed due to a frozen pitch – the Shaymen’s second postponement in five days.

Town’s home league fixture against Solihull Moors, which was Saturday’s victim, has already been re-arranged and will now by played at The Shay on Tuesday, January 8 (7.45pm).

But to add to the growing list of games that will need to be pencilled into the Shaymen’s fixture list is their away clash with fellow promotion-chasers Guiseley next Tuesday night which has been already called off as the Nethermoor club have an outstanding county cup clash.

Blue Square North neighbours Bradford Park Avenue have added to their squad.

Horsfall Stadium manager John Deacey has bolstered his defensive options with the capture of Callum Howe on a month’s loan from League I outfit Scunthorpe.

The 18-year-old centre back has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Iron having come up through the youth ranks at Glanford Park.

Deacey has now handed Howe the chance to gain some first-team experience in the Blue Square Bet North after signing him on loan until January. The teenager could make his debut on Monday when they play host to Gainsborough.
