FC HALIFAX Town aim to stretch their winning sequence into double figures when they visit Gainsborough Trinity today.

Neil Aspin’s side make the trip east to The Northolme having enjoyed success in their last nine fixtures in all competitions dating back to October.

That run includes a 100% November sequence which earned Aspin the Blue Square North manager of the month award.

And, with Saturday’s clash against Corby a victim of bad weather, their latest victory on Boxing Day was 3-1 against today’s opponents Gainsborough at The Shay.

Aspin, however, is taking nothing for granted as both clubs have sights firmly set on the play-offs and the New Year’s Day meeting brings together fourth against fifth in the table – although the Shaymen have FIVE games in hand.

With speedy winger Jason St Juste out for a long spell, Dale Johnson out for the season and Paul Marshall also sidelined, it seems likely Aspin will name an unchanged side.

Jon Worthington, Lee Gregory and Ryan Toulson sealed the latest success with Liam Hogan finding his own net for the Gainsborough equaliser.

Similarly to Halifax, Trinity’s planned game on Saturday fell foul to bad weather meaning they’ll have to make the trip to Worcester City on another date.
