Former Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell will be among the guests on this week’s A Question of Sport.

The BBC1 show will be screened on Wednesday (10.45) and again on Friday (7.30).

Ex-England left-back Powell joins host Sue Barker, team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell, and fellow guests, former World Champion swimmer Mark Foster, British record-holding hammer thrower Sophie Hitchon and retired All Blacks rugby union player Ali Williams.

Powell has increased his media work since being sacked by Town in November after 14 months in the job.

He previously bossed Charlton Athletic, having had three spells as a player.

The 46-year-old is also a former chairman of the Professional Footballers’ Association.

A Question of Sport has been airing since 1968, with more than 1,000 episodes produced.

Meanwhile Powell, who also played for Derby County, will return to the iPro Stadium to play in Shaun Barker’s testimonial on Thursday (7.00).

Barker suffered a serious knee injury in a 1-0 win over Derby’s rivals Nottingham Forest in March 2012.

Howard and Powell will play for a Shaun Barker XI, managed by Roy McFarland, against a Derby County XI.
