TOWN striker John McAliskey seems certain to earn a first international cap in Portugal.
The 20-year-old is "delighted" with his Republic of Ireland Under 21 call-up for the friendly in Almeida on February 8.
And manager Don Givens has hinted strongly that Macca will get into the action.
"I'm delighted to be picked for an international and Don Givens has told me I'm likely to feature in the game at some point, which is great," said McAliskey today.
"It's the first time I've had a call-up, but Gerry Murphy put my name forward and the coaches must have been pleased with what they've seen of me.
"I qualify to play for England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, so I've got quite a lot of different blood in me, but it's a real boost to think I'll be representing the Republic of Ireland and I'm just going to do my best."
McAliskey flies out after Town's home clash with Luton.
