TWO of Town's Third Division rivals have parted company with their managers.

Swansea, who visit Town a week tomorrow, announced the departure of Brian Flynn by mutual consent.

And Cambridge have sacked John Taylor after a run of dismal results.

Ex-Leeds player and Wrexham boss Flynn leaves the Vetch Field after a year-and-a-half in charge and with the Swans on the fringe of the play-offs.

They went down 2-1 to struggling Macclesfield on Tuesday.

But that was a sole defeat in six games for the 10th-placed team.

Assistant manager Kevin Reeves has also left, with coach Alan Curtis taking the reins for tomorrow's home meeting with Scunthorpe.

Cambridge appointed former player Taylor, 39, in January 2002.

He has been axed after a run of just one win in five games leaving his side just five places off the foot.

Martin Allen has been named as the new manager of Second Division Brentford after quitting Barnet.
