THE Sunday League have tHree teams through to the second round of the West Riding County FA Sunday Cup.

Unfortunately, two fell at the first-round stage.

The two failures were Wellington Westgate, who were no match for Bradford based Bolton Woods and went down 7-0.

The other failure, Marsh Lib, travelled to Silsden and felt very unfortunate to lose 6-2, a score which they thought flattered the home side. Ben Roys and Gary Robinson netted their goals.

Golcar Con’s first venture into this competition proved successful as they saw off White Eagles 6-0 thanks to a brace each by Martin and Andrew Allison and Tom McCreadie.

Lindley WMC travelled to Thackley and they also won through 3-0 as Brighton Mugadza, Bryn Green and Shaw were on target.

Huddersfield Irish Centre had the easiest passage at Leeds Road Playing Fields against a very poor Bradford-based Dog and Gun.

Irish went rampant to steamroller their opponents 13-1. Keiran Ryan (4), Matt Tattersley (3), Adam Bell (2), Ashley Flynn (2), Steve Perrin and Andy Kitrick completed the rout.

In the West Riding Sunday Trophy first round, current league leaders Rose and Crown had a long trip to Selby to face Gypsy Moth.

However, Crown travelled well and ran out 7-1 winners with strikes from Darren Blower and braces by Lee Shaw, Liam King and Beverley.

In Division I, Thornhill Arms and Lepton Lib, having drawn 2-2 the previous week, met again. Once again the teams could not be separated and the result this time was 4-4.
