There are only two Mark Hudsons!
Huddersfield Town’s new recruit isn’t the first player of that name to play for the club.
The first version, a midfielder, signed from Chesterfield in June 2005.
Bishop Auckland-born, he had begun his career at Middlesbrough.
Hudson, now 33, made 69 Town appearances, scoring six goals, before a move to Rotherham United in June 2007.
He also played for Blackpool before dropping into non-league football with Gainsborough Trinity.
Grimsby Town, Worksop Town and Bradford Park Avenue were other stopping off points.
A return to the North-East brought spells with West Auckland Town, Ashington, Sunderland RCA and Shildon, where he remains club captain.
