GARY NAYSMITH aims to earn a contract with Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen after being invited on their pre-season tour of Germany.

The 33-year-old left-back, who played for Scotland under Dons boss Craig Brown, was released by Town at the end of last season.

Naysmith made 45 appearances in two injury-hit campaigns after signing from Sheffield United. He previously played for Hearts and Everton.

Aberdeen, whose first-choice left back Clark Robertson is currently injured, have games against Alstatte, Werder Bremen and St Pauli.
