FORMER Town director Charles Hodgkinson has died aged 81 after suffering cancer.
The Penistone solicitor, who lived at Cawthorne, Mr Hodgkinson was elected to the board in March 1981 and served for almost 22 years.
A popular figure in his time at Leeds Road, he helped re-negotiate the lease on the old ground, putting Town in a solid position to make their move to the new stadium in 1994.
The funeral will take place at St John’s Church in Penistone on Monday at 2pm.
