MARCUS STEWART has snubbed a new contract offer from Yeovil to sign for Exeter.

Capturing the former Town striker, right, is a big coup for the Grecians, who are back in League II after promotion from the Blue Square.

Town’s League I rivals Yeovil had offered the 35-year-old, who also played for both Bristol clubs, Ipswich and Sunderland, a part-coaching role.

Exeter manager Paul Tisdale, himself a former Town loan player, said: “I am delighted to get a player of Marcus’s quality. He will add another dimension to our play.

“It’s a real coup to sign a player of his ability and it shows how far Exeter City have come.”

Stewart, who has been training with Team Bath, is set to make his debut in Wednesday’s home friendly against Portsmouth.

Former Town centre-back Adie Moses has signed for Mansfield, who were relegated to the Blue Square last season.

Moses, 33, also played for Barnsley, Lincoln and Crewe.

Kidderminster striker Michael Blackwood has also signed.
