Former Huddersfield Town loan left-back James Husband will miss the start of Middlesbrough’s season because of a shoulder problem which needs surgery.

The 22-year-old suffered a dislocation during Saturday’s 6-0 friendly victory at York City.

The timing could hardly be worse for the Leeds-born player, who is desperate to force his way into head coach Aitor Karanka’s plans for the new Premier League season after spending most of last season away from the Riverside, first at Fulham, then Town, for whom he made 12 appearances.
