EX-HUDDERSFIELD TOWN loan man Liam Cooper has joined Chesterfield for a month.

It means the 21-year-old will link up with Town pair Liam Ridehalgh and Chris Atkinson at the League II side.

Full-back Ridehalgh has played 15 times for the Spireites and midfielder Atkinson 10 times, scoring three goals.

But like Town teammates Jimmy Spencer, who is at Brentford, and Kallum Higginbotham (Carlisle), the pair will not be able to play in today’s FA Cup first round (Chesterfield host Hartlepool).

Centre-back Cooper hasn’t featured for Hull’s first team since the end of last season, but scored against Chesterfield for the Tigers’ reserves this week.

Cooper, who made five starts and two appearances from the bench for Town last season, has played 17 times for Hull and has also had a loan spell at Carlisle.

Hull have also loaned 22-year-old winger Jamie Devitt to Rotherham.
