Lee Peltier is looking forward to his new Cardiff City challenge after completing his move from Huddersfield Town.

The 28-year-old former John Smith’s Stadium skipper has signed a contract through to 2018 and has been reunited with his old Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade.

Cardiff are preparing to host Derby County on Saturday, and versatile Peltier said: “I’m looking for success and I think I can find that here.

“I’ve worked under the gaffer before and he’s asked me to come into the group and give it my all.

“I’m really good mates with Anthony Pilkington, having played with him at Huddersfield.

“And I also know Nicky Maynard, Craig Noone and (ex-Town loan defender) Sean Morrison, so there are a few familiar faces here.

“I like to think I’m an outgoing person and I say things as I see them, so I’m looking forward to coming in and contributing.

“Hopefully I can help my teammates as much as they can help me.”

Defender or midfielder Peltier returned for a second spell at Town during the summer.

The Liverpool product who has also played for Leicester City and Leeds United signed a three-year deal and started the campaign as captain.

However he has struggled to claim a place under Chris Powell, who made Mark Hudson skipper and last week signed defender or midfielder David Edgar on loan from Birmingham City.

Edgar made his debut in Saturday’s 1-0 Championship win at Wigan Athletic and is set for a home bow against Leeds United this Saturday.

Peltier made nine Town starts and three substitute appearances this season.

In his first Town stint, from 2009-2011, he made 103 appearances (all starts) and scored three goals.
