LEE CLARK says the coaching of Andrew Cole is already having an impact on Town’s hungry young strikers.

The Galpharm boss drafted in his former Newcastle teammate, the second-highest scorer in Premier League history behind Alan Shearer, to work on the training pitch late last month.

And he says the ex-Manchester United and England ace has already made his mark with joint seven-goal top scorers Jordan Rhodes and Theo Robinson as well as Lee Novak and Robbie Simpson.

“Whatever age you are, you can’t fail to learn from someone like Coley,” said Clark, whose team went into today’s home League I clash with Brentford as the country’s top scorers with 17.

“You’re a young striker and you have someone coaching you who was one of the best in the business in the hardest league in the world.

“As Andy keeps telling us, if you have a couple of weeks to spare, go and have a look in his trophy cabinet!”
