1. Ishmael Miller can be a key man for Huddersfield Town:

The big striker might have some critics among the crowd, but as boss Chris Powell pointed out, he is appreciated by his teammates.

The former Manchester City man used his pace and power to really good effect against Bolton Wanderers.

It was just a shame he couldn’t force the goal his unselfish performance merited.

Perhaps he’ll get off the mark against another old club, Nottingham Forest?

2. Wing play can be a potent feature of the system this season:

Powell has two speed merchants in Sean Scannell and Mustapha Carayol.

They both showed glimpses of what they are capable of on Saturday.

Get in some good crosses, and Town could really benefit.

3. Set-pieces can bring success:

We’ve long been calling for more effective use of corners and free-kicks.

So it was good to see Emyr Huws drill the ball home from a flag-kick routine.

The manager later confirmed the crucial equaliser was straight off the training ground.

4. Huddersfield Town have goals in them:

A tally of five in the first seven games was a worry.

But having notched two in a game for the first time at Charlton Athletic, Town followed up with four.

It could have been more, but it’s a pretty decent haul on any Saturday afternoon.

Town’s nine in the league have come from six different sources, although Jacob Butterfield has of course departed.

5. Emyr Huws appears to be a top recruit:

The on-loan Wigan Athletic midfielder has made a real impact.

And it’s not just through leaping to the top of the club goal chart with three in the last two games.

Hopefully he can carry on the good work.
